Take-back of waste electrical equipment / batteries

We care about the environment and therefore provide options for how to easily and free of charge hand over waste electrical equipment and batteries.

End users play a key role in the system for handling electrical equipment and portable batteries. It is the user who decides what to do with old equipment or batteries. Waste electrical equipment and batteries must not be disposed of with mixed municipal waste – they should be handed over via collection points (take-back points) from which they are sent for reuse or recycling.

Users are informed that electrical equipment/batteries do not belong in municipal waste. All new equipment/batteries are labelled accordingly. The symbol may be shown on the product, on the packaging, in the user manual or in the warranty document.

How to get rid of old appliances/batteries?

  • Individuals can use the service: BUĎ LÍNÝ or Rebalík.
  • Legal entities can use: Svoz pro registrované partnery.
  • At the point of sale at the address of store: JIPA CZ s.r.o., U Stadionu 138, 503 03 Smiřice, Česká republika.
  • Through the publicly available collection network REMA Systém, a.s., which is designed for the take-back of electrical equipment.
  • Through the publicly available collection network REMA Battery, s.r.o., which is designed for the take-back of batteries.
  • Through a publicly accessible collection network that is designated for take-back on the website of the Ministry of the Environment (ISOH 2).
  • If necessary, you can get advice on the toll-free Smart Recycling line (800 976 679).

Why recycle?

Both electrical equipment and batteries contain recyclable metals such as zinc, iron, manganese, nickel, cadmium or lead. Some of these substances can be hazardous to the environment and human health, especially mercury, lead and cadmium. Certain batteries are marked with the chemical symbol of the contained element (Pb, Cd, Hg).

By handing over batteries and equipment at take-back points, recycling helps save primary raw material resources and protects the environment from improper handling.

Unused batteries that are not returned to take-back points but stored at home or at work may cause fire. This risk is particularly relevant for lithium batteries. For safety reasons, it is important to return used batteries for recycling as soon as possible.
